Police warn about FA Cup disorder
Police are asking football supporters to distance themselves from any drunken, violent and anti-social behaviour in the run up to the Chelsea and Manchester United FA Cup Final Match this Saturday, May 19.
Cumbria Constabulary's Assistant Chief Constable Graham Sunderland said, "In the past football associated violence and disorder by a small minority of supporters has spoiled enjoyment of the game."
He added, "As part of our Respect campaign this type of anti-social behaviour will be targeted by police officers. We want football supporters to have a good time whilst watching the match but will not tolerate unacceptable anti-social behaviour."
