RNLI Open Day
THE crew of RNLI's Barrow Lifeboat Station at Roa Island, Near Barrow, are hosting an Open Day at the station on Saturday, June 14, between 10am and 4pm.
The current Barrow Lifeboats, the inshore boat 'Spirit of Tamworth' and the relief 30 ton Tamar class all weather boat 'Frank and Anne Wilkinson' will be on display.
Spokesman John Falvey said: "This is the annual opportunity for children to bring their parents and grandparents down to view the station, the equipment and lifeboats.
"Members of the lifeboat crew will be manning the station and souvenir shop, and will be available to take visitors aboard and explain how things work."
It costs £335,000 per day to run the RNLI and we do reply entirely on the generosity of public donations.
