Have an art...
PEOPLE with an interest in the arts are being offered an opportunity to help Lancaster City Council develop a new strategy' for the district.
Funding from Arts Council England has enabled the city to appoint Alan Dix from 509 Arts in Shipley to launch consultations.
And arrangements are now being made for a programme of open days in the autumn when locals will be asked to share their views.
The arts strategy aims to be a significant document' for the future, covering all art forms and including both amateur and professional activity in the district.
Anyone with any interest in the arts - from all ages, abilities, backgrounds and talents - will be able to get involved, says a spokesman.
"Whatever your passion - the performing arts, visual and public art, festivals, digital arts and crafts - Lancaster City Council wants to hear from you," he says.
People can register an initial interest by e-mailing details to lancasterdistrict@509arts.co.uk
